In addition to credibility, I think the writing and publishing of news articles has gone through tremendous transformation in the sense that journalists no longer consider the quality of content alone but also key words that can help their content to stand out in a crowded internet media. In this case, I have learned that whereas in the past journalists did not need to worry about using specific key words to help their content to stand out due to the fact that they depended heavily on the brand and marketing tactics of the traditional media that they worked for, this has since changed. In reference to Richmond (2008), whereas a journalist can write the best news article in the entire world, if he or she fails to integrate specific key words to enhance visibility on the internet, such an article will fail to attract the desired audience. With this in mind, I have learned that for one to function effectively as a journalist and as such, write news articles that will not only attract a large audience but also have a significant influence on this audience, one has to acquire Search Engine Optimisation skills and techniques. Speaking from this point of view, despite the fact that I am still in the learning process, I have acquired some skills on selecting key words and phrases that can help boost a news article visibility on digital media.

In conclusion, there are a number of aspects of news articles that capture my attention. One of these aspects regards the writing approaches that journalists employ when writing these articles. Apart from the way the article are written, I think citing or rather quoting authoritative voices on a particular issue that is being reported in the news article is instrumental in enhancing its credibility. Importantly, I realised that a person who aspires to become a journalist not only need to learn how to write articles in a certain way, but he or she also needs to learn other skills such as interviewing people as well as SEO skills for the sake of enhancing the visibility of his or her news article on digital media platforms.
