Despite the fact that strengthening my skills in professional writing will play a fundamental role in my career in future, I find myself more attracted to, and more comfortable with self-expressive writing. As a person, I like using my creativity to express my inner feelings without limitations that are particularly evident in writing styles such as journalistic and professional writing. Unlike other styles of writing, self-expressive writing provides me with an imaginative approach to expressing myself without the fear of aspects such as how to use different elements of language. I do not even need to think about the audience. Furthermore, I feel more comfortable with self-expressive writing style since it provides me with a platform to select the audience that I feel shares the same values with me and as such, can easily connect with it. In addition, this style has numerous avenues that I can explore to grow my creativity and imagination without the need to rely on aspects such as facts or proof, and this to me is a worthy challenge. The fun part of it is embedded in the fact that self-expressive writing enables my mind to wander off to a wonderland that is shut off to professional and scholarly writing, which are highly dependent on aspects such as facts and formality. For me, I find this wandering interesting since it lets me connect with both the real and the imagined universes where perfection is practiced.

The type of texts that could help that could help contribute to an effective and professional final project report include minutes and memos. In particular, as a team, writing minutes is essential in recording the issues that were discussed in a particular meeting as well as the resolutions or decisions that were made. The minutes coupled with memos would serves as a framework to provide an understanding on the progress being made by the team and as such, would play a critical role in writing the report by shedding light on different levels of development for the project. In addition to these, the lap reports and environmental impact statement will play a critical role in providing technical information for the report. For example, these types of writing will help provide the much needed data for the report.

Importantly, one of the roles that I could play in developing the above texts is being an author. For example, I could play this role by writing the memo to other team members as well as the author the lab report for our report. I also think I could play the role of a co-author, particularly when writing the environmental impact statement. In this regard, I will collaborate with one or more of the team members to write this statement in preparation for the final professional report. Similarly, I will play the role of clerical assistant particularly in helping write the minutes of the team meetings. Lastly, I will help in editing different the lab report as well as the environmental impact statement. Playing these roles successful will help in laying a foundation for writing a high quality final report for our project.
