Teamwork is one of the most critical approaches to completing engineering projects. In particular, employing teamwork when working on an engineering project provides a platform to enhance efficiency and provide synergy and as such, improve productivity. Notably, engineering projects are highly demanding in terms of skills as well as resources. As a result of this, these projects need a high level of cooperation to enhance the allocation of resources such as time and skills. This can only be achieved when members working on a particular project work as a team. Furthermore, due to tight deadlines, engineering projects require a high level of productivity. For instance, as an engineering student, I have found that I accomplish much when working in a team with others students as compared to when I am working alone. Therefore, I think an engineering project benefits more in terms of high level of productivity, timely delivery of the project and better management of resources when a team works on it rather than an individual.

Similarly, another benefit that teamwork offers to an engineering project is the fact that it provides an opportunity for team members to learn. Note that as team members collaborate on a particular engineering project, they share critical knowledge with each other, thus providing an opportunity to learn from each other. Such learning opportunities enable members to gain experience and skills that are instrumental in helping complete similar future projects. Furthermore, an engineering project that provides a favorable learning environment is likely to help create new knowledge, which is instrumental for further development of both the particular project as well as future projects. From a personal point of view, I think working as a team on engineering projects has helped me gain significant understanding of difficult engineering concept, which I could not have gained on my own.

With regard to my contribution on my team, I think I have made an above average contribution to my team. Notably, when working in my team, I have exhibited a high level of participation and enthusiasm, thus making significant contribution to the team discussions. Notably, I think when members of a team reflect a high level of enthusiasm and actively participate in team, such a team has a high likelihood to succeed at its tasks. I have also contributed immensely in helping solve conflicts between members, show commitment to team meetings and tasks, as well as helped make decisions on our group work. Notably, the behavior and level of commitment towards the project are instrumental in helping create synergy in the team and as such, help it perform better. Whereas my contribution to the team is significant, I think I need to enhance my level of participation in the team especially with respect to making contributions and helping find solutions.
